OH WOW! Welcomes 4 new board members

OH WOW!® The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology proudly welcomes Dr. Alisha Ann Alls, Karrington S.A. Griffin, Melissa Maiorano, and Tyler Bradford Williams to its esteemed 20-member Board of Directors. Their passion for STEM education and unique expertise will drive OH WOW!® to new heights in inspiring and empowering young minds. These new board members share a profound appreciation for the transformative power of STEM education.

Dr. Alisha Lynnette Alls, a Student Success Coach with Eastern Gateway Community College and owner of Dr. Alisha Alls, LLC, an educational consulting firm, joins the board, bringing valuable knowledge on organizational leadership in K-12 education. Dr. Alls has a rich service background to organizations such as the Fine Arts Council of Trumbull County, the McGuffey Titonics Robotics Team, and the SWAG Sisters of Warren. Her commitment to fostering educational opportunities resonates with OH WOW!®'s mission.

Karrington S.A. Griffin, the Director of Supply Chain Diversity for The Youngstown Business Incubator, is another invaluable addition to the board. With expertise in supplier diversification in Ohio’s Silicon Heartland and Voltage Valley, Griffin is poised to expose youth to opportunities in STEM entrepreneurship. His passion for empowering the next generation is evident in his dedication to bridging the gap between STEM education and real-world business.

Melissa Maiorano, the Director of Workforce Development for the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber, brings a wealth of experience in regional workforce development efforts. Her work connecting business, education, and economic development partnerships aligns perfectly with OH WOW!®'s commitment to creating a thriving STEM ecosystem in the region. Maiorano's involvement on the Workforce Development Board and Kent State University at Trumbull’s Advisory Board further demonstrates her dedication to advancing educational opportunities.

Tyler Bradford Williams, the Director Apprentice of the Sterling McCollough Williams Funeral Home, with his experience in business management, facilities, and operations, is an asset as OH WOW!® embarks on its Phase 4 Renovation. Williams understands the importance of efficient processes and strategic planning. His contributions to the Advisory Board for the Salvation Army of Warren and the Trumbull County Hospice Committee Board highlight his commitment to community service.

Marvin Logan, Executive Director of OH WOW!®, expressed his excitement about the new board members, stating, “We are excited to welcome such a dynamic group of leaders from The Valley. As we continue to elevate our level of service to the region, we are continually connecting talent and passion, ensuring we can create sustainable impact.”

Together with the existing board members, these individuals will continue to strengthen OH WOW!®'s position as a leader in STEM education within the Mahoning Valley. Their diverse backgrounds and experiences will undoubtedly contribute to the center's mission and amplify its impact on the community.
